Fezzari's most popular full-suspension cross-country mountain bike for all-purpose riding. It has the Fezzari Racing Design F400A 4-Bar Link 100mm travel full suspension premium aluminum frame:

  • It has a bend in the top tube to give lower standover clearance because often when you need to put a foot down on the trail you're not on level ground and you need as much clearance as you can get.
  • The rear triangle has square tubing to give added strength and stiffness to the frame.
  • The 4-Bar Link rear suspension distributes bump stress through four links and provides a more vertical wheel path than many other full suspension frames. A vertical wheel path means that when you're pedaling the bike won't bob up and down, but it will still absorb the bumps.
  • Reinforced gussets in the right places to give it superior lateral stiffness
  • Butting (thinning the tubing walls in the right places) to lower weight. The frame weighs just 6 lbs.
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty on the frame - the best in the business.

You'll notice the difference in comfort, performance, and ride on a full-suspension Fezzari frame.

You get 5 main upgrades over the Abajo Peak:

  1. Upgraded drivetrain - from Shimano LX to Shimano XT for even smoother shifting.
  2. Upgraded front shock - the RockShox Tora 302 is a heavier duty shock for more aggressive riding. It has 32mm width upper tubes rather than the Dart 2's 28mm upper tubes.
  3. Upgraded disc brakes - upgraded to hydraulic disc from mechanical disc. They self-adjust as the pads wear, and they are easier to pull. For example, a rim brake may require all four fingers to pull the lever; a mechanical disc may require two fingers to pull the lever; a hydraulic disc may only require one finger to pull the lever.
  4. Upgraded rear shock - the RockShox Ario 2.2 is a little lighter, a little smoother, and it has the addition of lockout. So you get both front and rear lockout on the Alta Peak.
  5. Upgraded rims - the Mavic XM117 rims on the Alta Peak are a little lighter than the Alex rims on the Abajo Peak.

These upgrades translate into a little smoother shifting, smoother and lighter-to-the-touch braking, lockout on the front and rear for even more efficient climbing or riding, heavier duty fork for more aggressive riding or riders that are over 250 lbs.

Truvativ Blaze Crankset - Bullet-proof design with AL-66 alloy forged crankarms, AL-7075-T6 alloy outer chainring, and a PowerSpline bottom bracket with a spline taper for added durability.

Shimano XT Rear Derailleur - Well-known for its durability and smooth shifting, the Shimano XT rear derailleur has a wide pivot link design that boosts strength and rigidity. Upgrades from the LX rear derailleur include more forged parts (rather than stamped) to make it lighter; also it replaces two of the bushings with bearings for smoother performance.

Shimano Deore Shifters - Durable and quick-shifting, Shimano Deore Shifters are the standard by which all other shifters are compares. Includes analog shifter dial.

RockShox Tora Fork - The RockShox Tora 302 Fork is a heavy-duty cross-country fork for all-around riding. It features: 100mm of travel; Preload Adjust to set the shock tension; Rebound Adjust to regulate how quickly it bounces back after it has been compressed; Lockout to disengage the shock; 32mm Upper Tubes to give more stiffness for more aggressive riding. It's unmatched in its class for stiffness and performance.

RockShox Ario 2.2 Rear Shock - With rock-solid lockout, the Ario offers the ultimate efficiency for cross-country riding. It features: Air Preload via Schrader valve so that you can tune the stiffness of the shock; Rebound Adjust to adjust how quickly it bounces back after being compressed; Lockout via a big lever that you can activate on the fly for ultimate efficiency.

Avid Juicy 3 Brakes - With great adjustability, Avid Juicy 3 Brakes feature: Indexed Brake Lever Reach Adjustment; Clean Sweep rotors (available in 160, 185, and 203mm); Tri-Align™ Caliper Positioning System™ for automatic pad alignment; Pad Contact-Point Adjustment knob (the red knob) to quickly adjust pad distance; Power Reserve Geometry™ for ultra-easy braking; Tool-free pad replacement; Ambidextrous Levers; and Drip-Free bleeding. All this translates into the best braking you can get.

Great product at a great price

You make a great product for the price! I almost bought a Cannondale Rush 6 and for the price the Alta Peak is 10 times the bike. I almost didn't find out about you in time though. I just happened to be surfing around one night and happened upon your website by accident. I went to the local bike shop the next day and I got my deposit back on the Cannondale and ordered the Alta Peak the next day. Thanks for a great product at a great price!

You can't beat the custom set up

Being an odd size rider, the idea of having a bike built to my measurements sounded impossible. I owned Trek and Specialized and spent a small fortune in extras (necks, bars, cranks, and rims). They never fit right -- always felt awkward. 10 minutes after pulling my Alta Peak from the box I felt perfection. It fits like a glove. No extras needed. And such a value the bike is fully loaded. You guys are the best.

I got my Alta Peak a few days ago and so far I love it. I have been riding trails all over Okinawa Japan and it performs excellent! Thanks for the great product.

  Super responsive and climbs amazing

I received the Alta Peak last week and after very few tweaks the bike was ready to go. It looked solid to me and after my first day riding I can say it is incredibly durable. By no means am I making this up but I took some serious falls with the bike flying through the air etc. It was possibly the most horrible display of riding you could imagine. I had a about a 4 foot drop front wheel first after jumping a rock formation. I have a few scars to prove it. The bike kicks a**, super responsive and it climbs amazing! And after an insane day of riding its still intact with a few scratches.

  Bike and support are awesome
by Mark Foster (Oceanside, CA)

All I really new about mountain bikes when I started looking was that I wanted to ride! After visiting several local bike shops, the one thing that was said consistently was components, components, components. I looked at Giant, Trek, and Specialized to name a few. Then I was led to Fezzari’s website. I printed out the specs on the Alta Peak XR and went back to every bike shop. None of the bike shops could compete with the Alta Peak XR price and components. There comparable bikes with these components were around $2000-$2500. So based on there advise, I bought a bike based off the frame design and components offered, It was the Fezzari Alta Peak XR! I’ve had this bike for about 6 months and trail ride about 50mi a week here in So-Cal. I even took it up to Mammoth Mountain for a week. The bike is just awesome! The ride is smooth, handles great in the tight stuff and climbs great. If you’re starting out just like I was, get a bike that your ability can grow into, get the most for your money and get the Alta Peak XR. I’m telling you… take a spec sheet and hit your local bike shops, they just will not be able to compete! O’ya… there support is awesome as well. I mean you can call them up and talk to a real person in less than a minute. Setting the bike up out of the box is a piece of cake…about 15min and your riding. As you can tell I love this bike and I’m sure you will as well. Thanks to all at Fezzari and hurry up with that Downhill bike…I want one of those too!
