Fezzari Athlete Iron Cowboy James Lawrence Talks Life a Year After the 505050

It’s been almost a year since Fezzari athlete, the Iron Cowboy, James Lawrence the ultimate endurance athlete accomplished the incomprehensible. He completed 50 Ironman distance triathlons in 50 consecutive days in 50 different states. He did this on his Fezzari T5 triathlon bike.

The saga in which James faced incredible adversity – including toes that swelled so big that he had to pull his toe nails off to continue running and literally falling asleep on his Fezzari bicycle – is a unique mark of human achievement. What motivated him? What is he doing now? Does he have anything else planned? These are questions we are frequently asked. Currently James is preparing for other incredible endurance feats, training athletes, and forming a racing club. Lately he’s also been actively riding mountain bikes and preparing for Leadville. He says mountain biking hones his skills and reflexes and keeps him sharp. His go-to mountain bike? The Fezzari Solitude cross-country carbon hardtail race bike. He’s also been riding his Fezzari Foré CR5 road bike and has been seen on the Kings Peak fat tire mountain bike.

At the same time he is the ultimate family man and down-to-earth individual. He loves spending time with his wife and 5 kids and says they’re an active family. He’s a guy you’d just love to hang out with.

In this video James talks about life, his family, what motivates him, and gives some simple advice on exercise. He says that like everyone, there are days that he just doesn’t want to get up and exercise. His advice? Keep moving. Keep taking steps.
