Reviews

Editor's Choice for Bike of the Year

I'm just going to say, this is my favorite bike of the Bible of Bike test.

It charged over everything we pointed it at without question or concern. The suspension offered support whether hitting jump trails or skimming down technical descents. The La Sal builds off modern geometry trends and prioritizes performance and design. It’s an all-around fun enduro bike built to conquer climbs and slay singletrack on the way back down.

The geometry is revolutionary.

Fezzari has smashed one deep into the bleachers.

Straight from the future.

If you’re looking for a bike that will eat your local trail system up, climb like mountain goat and shred the descents, this is a killer option. Fezzari offers a great custom-build option to dial in the bike for your size and style, plus you can rely on an excellent warranty program and great customer service.

Fezzari blew our socks off. Then we put them back on and rode the bike. And we were still astonished.

My La Sal Experience

Christopher Evans

I've put a little over 300 miles on my La Sal. Initially, I was really happy with this bike, but then I took it to Moab and rode Captain Ahab. Now, I can't think of any bike I would trade this bike for! My last bike was a Mojo3. This beauty climbs better (especially love the lack of accidental nose lift when pedaling hard up steep stuff). It handles the wonderful speed and flow of my local trails, and then it just devoured the slow, precise tech and the big chundery rolls and drops on Ahab and other trails. My best bike ever, no question! If I could change anything, I would get the shock companies to create forks and shocks that can handle the rigors that the Lyrik can handle, while weighing half as much - yes the only improvements are pipe dreams.

My 2019 La Sal Peak on a ‘real ride’

David A.

Team Fezzari- I’d like to give credit where credit is due - my new La Sal Peak performed flawlessly on its first real (and long) ride in Salida, CO on the Monarch Crest Trail system. Up until this point, I have only been able to ride the bike at my local trail system for 45 minutes to an hour each ride trying to set up the suspension and dial it in. Then in late July, I suffered a pinched nerve in my neck and was not able to ride the bike for about two months. Well, I worked through that injury, and was able to getaway (from the Frontrange) and ride MCT. We rode 3 rides the first day and 3 the second day. As each ride progressed, I got more used to and comfortable with the La Sal Peak; by the end of the weekend, I was one with the bike in able to smash through any rock garden ahead or blast any fast single track section in front of me. Pure Bliss! Could not be happier with my purchase. David A. in Boulder, CO. P.S. Thank you for the cool socks.

I got to demo a Fezzari La Sal on the most iconic trail in Moab!

Jeremy

The best word I can use to describe this bike is "nimble". The Whole Enchilada trail is a true test of any bike. The shuttle drops you off at 11,000 ft in the pine trees. You wind your way down the mountain, through the aspens, through the sage brush and the last 1/2 of the trail is on slick rock and sand in the 100 degree desert. It is a long, grueling day for the rider but it is really grueling for the bike I imagine. I was really impressed with the Rock Shox Lyrix fork and the Maxxis Aggressor and Minion tire combination provided excellent traction. I did not have any problems with the GX Eagle drivetrain and the Fox Transfer Performance dropper post was crisp and consistent doing it's job on the trail. The bike I normally ride is a Specialized Enduro. The Enduro has longer travel in the suspension and the Enduro feels longer and lower to the trail. However, the 150 mm of travel on the Fezzari did not feel inadequate all day. If I could convince my wife that I need another bike I would add this bike to my garage tomorrow. You can actually get a carbon Fezzari La Sal for under $3,600. If you haven't had the opportunity to demo a La Sal, or if you haven't even heard of the Fezzari brand for that matter I would encourage you to check it out. Go to their website and see if you can schedule a demo. You won't regret it.

The One Bike Quiver

Dane Taylor

Fezzari nailed it with the La Sal Peak. The bike fits well and climbs/descends even better. The progressive geo allows me to pedal for days, and when you point it down hill, it comes alive. Really love how quiet the bike is over rough terrain! Kudos Fezzari!

I just did what?

Mike

I find the bike to be really annoying as I kept having to look back at what I managed to climb up and stare in disbelief for a few minutes. Also, I seemed to keep running out of talent before the bike would, which kind of sucks.

Solid bike

Alfie Malapira

Hearing a lot of positive feed backs really makes me want to push to purchase one!

Enduro Tough / XC Fast

J Williams

I've owned this bike for almost a year now. I am a one-bike kinda guy and don't usually shuttle, so I need a bike that can pedal up and win Enduro races on the way back down. Check. Check. I have won and podium'ed more races since switching to the La Sal (from a RipMo no less!) and gotten faster than I ever thought I could be. I also rode the La Sal in the True Grit Epic XC race; 50 miles, 5,200' vertical. Just buy it already.

Climbs better than I could have expected

Justin Henley

I was a little hesitant to get the 29" because I thought it would be hard to maneuver in the tight turns and the switchbacks, I found myself not even noticing the wheels. This bike handles better than any bike I have ever been on in 22 years of riding. Climbs like a trail bike but descends so fast I felt like I was on a DH! I even loved the LSP at the park. I will for sure buy Fezzari again when I am in the market for another bike. Thanks Fezzari!!!

Sedona MTB Festival

Scott T

It was good talking with the guys. Even more fun riding the bikes. The LaSal Peak climbed and descended like a champ. almost didn't want to turn it back in so soon. Thanks Tyler for the great insight on the bikes. Will be ordering one soon.

The Ultimate Quiver Killer

Reno T

This is simply a great bike. It will be whatever you want it to be. If you want to ride the whole mountain with a huge grin on your face, you're in the right place with the La Sal Peak. The steep seat tube angle gives you a great seated position for technical climbs or pedaling the flats. Descending is super stable and the bike tracks well and feels very calm down even the roughest and steepest descents. you can put your heels down and plow through the chunk if that's your style but it also loves to weave and bob and pop off of every little thing in sight. It's super stable in the air and overall handling is stable and predictable yet nimble. Cornering capability is outstanding and you can pull some big G forces if you have the chops. Believe the reviews, Fezzari nailed it with this bike. I am very impressed by how good the rear suspension is. it is very active over small bumps but still supportive and progressive on the larger hits. The build spec is spot on, price is right, and the customer service was outstanding. When I ordered my bike, the Fezzari staff was very accommodating. They took the time to answer all of my questions and custom ordered a couple parts to get the bike just how I wanted it. I was setting PRs on descents on the first ride without even trying. I'm looking forward to a long relationship and lots of good times with this bike.

Chain Breaker Certified!

Stephen Juan Wilson CMO Chain Breakers

Just got back from Outer Bike Crested Butte and the Fezzari La Sal Peak was not only my favorite of all demos ridden but came in as the top choice of a lot of guys in our Chain Breaker organization. I want one when I can one day afford it! Nice job Fezzari

This was by far one of the best bikes i have ever been on, and being able to say so after testing nearly 20 different bikes w comparable travel, head tube angle, and wheel size.

Gave Me Confidence

Brett M.

Gave me the confidence to ride downhill terrain I never thought I was capable of doing. Fast, comfortable and handles well. Suspension is dialed in perfectly.

Monster Truck

Brendan T.

Monster truck. The La Sal rolls over everything in its path. This bike likes to go fast, it plows through anything in front of it. The La Sal is great at holding it’s line and feels snappy and responsive.

A true home run if you're looking for a big mountain bike.

Dave K.

Point, lean back, and shoot. The La Sal will take care of the rest. I didn't find anything that could stand in this bike's way. It gobbled up rock gardens like they weren't even there. I was amazed that a long travel bike like this could climb as well as it does. A true home run if you're looking for a big mountain bike.

Most Capable Long Travel 29er

Norm N.

To date, the most capable long travel 29er I’ve ridden period!! I was impressed with the bikes ability to make me such a better rider. Handling obstacles and corners were a dream! What really impressed me the most though was the bikes ability to pedal and climb. I felt like I could just mash over and up terrain. Really is the top of the food chain!

Ultimate do-everything bike

Aaron T

The La Sal Peak is the ultimate full carbon do-everything bike. It climbs better than most trail bikes and descends like a DH monster. It truly is a point and shoot kind of bike. I love the 29” wheels and the super plush suspension that this bike gives you. I am blown away by how this bike made me a more confident and ultimately faster rider just by throwing my leg over it. Best bike I have ever owned hands down.

Choose Your Attire

Dress your La Sal in 29er tires up to 2.6 width or 27.5x2.8

29

The go-to choice for speed and maneuverability. 29er wheels and tires are lighter than 27.5+ giving you more speed.

27.5+

The ultimate in a comfortable ride and unbeatable traction. A 27.5+ rim and wider tire combination allows you to run much lower tire pressure to give you comfort and confidence. A perfect combo for long adventures.

Support

How many water bottle cages will it hold?

Large and XL frames can accommodate two water bottles, 1 on the down tube, 1 on the seat tube.  Small and medium allow for the versatility of placing a water bottle on the down tube or seat tube and using the other mount for tools.

What type of maintenance is required on the frame?

We believe in simplicity. That's why we designed the La Sal for minimal maintenance. You don't have to worry about zerk lubrication fittings. All bearings are sealed. All bearings are replaceable. Dirt can get between the bearings and the bolts, so occasionally we recommend it be cleaned. Also, as with any suspension frame, we recommend that you check the tightness of the bolts on your frame. Check the bolt for the recommended torque setting.

Are the cables routed underneath the bottom bracket?

No. We routed them on the top side of the downtube, minimizing cable movement, wear, and potential damage.

Does the La Sal have cable slap on the internally routed cables that is common on other bikes?

No. We specifically engineered the La Sal to minimize cable slap by designing our CleanCatch adaptive, future-proof, rattle-free cable guides.

What type of bottom bracket does the La Sal have?

It is an English thread standard bottom bracket for easy maintenance and increased durability.

How much does the frame weigh?

2300 grams

What type of derailleur hanger does it have?

The La Sal has a custom designed derailleur hanger with Frame Defense Technology that includes having the threading in the derailleur hanger and not the frame to minimize potential frame damage.

How big of tire will the La Sal handle?

27.5 x 2.8 or 29 x 2.6.

Can the La Sal fit a chainguide?

Yes, a chain guide can be mounted with ISCG-05 mounts

Every Fezzari comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame. Click here to read more.
