Signal Peak

Fast has never been this fun

The new short-travel trail-slayer. Built for speed up and down the trail. At home in races or on all-day rides.

Summiting the 19,341 feet of Mt. Kilimanjaro is hard enough and doing it by bike is something few have ever accomplished. The Iron Cowboy took the Solitude and himself to the limits. Every Fezzari is tested in real world conditions to make sure you get the best ride possible.

Best Short Travel Bike Under $5,000

Fezzari is a company that has customer service on the brain.

Our look at the details suggest that the company has done their homework.

Initially [the factory direct] process may sound a bit cold and corporate, but in reality, it's quite the opposite.

Floats and Sings

Ralph

I finally got the Signal Peak out on some proper trails this weekend. As promised, here is my ride report. The Setup I am quite finicky about bike setup and position. So I envisioned the normal, long and sometimes frustrating process of adjusting and fitting to get the Signal Peak dialed in once it arrived. Imagine my surprise when I install the front wheel, bar and saddle, and – shazam! – the bike was spot-on. I probably shouldn’t have been surprised given your careful attention to detail when I ordered the bike. So let me just say thank you for all the care and getting it right the first time. I threw a leg over the bike and it felt immediately dialed-in. There was no need to adapt my body or style to the bike because we had already adapted the bike to me. The Ride I laughed my way through two familiar, downhill rock gardens before it sunk in what was going on with the Signal Peak: I hadn’t used my brakes. These were sections where, on my prior bike, I would grit my teeth, ride the brakes, and bounce up and down grimacing. The Signal Peak floated right over them. Same goes for technical uphill sections. I cleared with relative ease not only rocky uphills I had previously labored up at best, but also a few sections I used to walk. And in twisty or bumpy trails, the cockpit, suspension, and all-around stability combine to take the bike just where you want in a reassuring, smooth and predictable manner. I found myself looking farther down the trail and riding faster & smoother because I didn’t have to worry about getting hung up on little obstacles or hiccups. This bike is exactly as-advertised: it pedals like an XC bike but descends and handles rough trails like a 150 mm trail bike. Confidence goes a long way when riding single-track, and the Signal Peak generates it in spades. And it’s so quiet. No more cable slap or chatter when you hit the rough stuff. All you hear is the sound of your tires on the trail. Please buy a drink for whoever designed or perfected your cable setup because it is blessedly silent. If I had to sum up the Signal Peak’s ride in two words, I would say it “floats and sings.” The Comparison My point of reference is an S-Works Epic World Cup full suspension with 100 mm of travel, which is about 2+ pounds lighter. The Signal Peak is more fun for sure. I am convinced, however, that it will also prove faster across the board on single-track, and frankly on anything but fire roads or smooth dirt climbs (and even then just due to the weight difference). But come on, that’s not the terrain we really ride MTBs for. If that kind of riding is your focus, you may as well buy a gravel bike. Or ride a hard tail. I remain very fond of my Epic but may have to sell it because I am hard pressed to think of terrain (again, other than just fire roads) where it would perform better. Next Up My racing focus this year will be a few NUE events. I’ve been on the podium in several of these (in the Masters category – I am old), but what’s held me back from a better result is not the pedaling parts but rather the technical sections. I can typically climb with the best of my peers but, being mostly a roadie, can’t hold the wheels of “real” MTB racers on technical descents or sections. If you consistently lose 2 minutes to your peer group on a long descent, that’s a lot to make up solo chasing on the next pedaling section. Either you yo-yo to the point of exhaustion, or give up and ride on your own. I think the Signal Peak is the bike I’ve been looking for to help improve my handling and bridge this gap. And in any event, I look forward to finding out because it’s just a lot more fun to ride. Thanks for designing such a great bike. - Ralph p.s. Kudos for your 30-day "love it or return it" policy. This helped me get over the mental hump of ordering a pricey bike I had never ridden, since I thought, well, if I either don't like the bike or am indifferent to it, I can always return it. No chance, of course. It's fantastic.

Joy on two wheels

Ronald R Paone

I'm a 57 year old beat up mountain biker who wanted to up his game before the game was over. I purchased the Signal Peak a month ago and have had a grin on my face since. Through rides in Lake Placid and Vermont's Kingdom trails I have been in the moment for many moments. Best bike I've ever had the pleasure of riding.

1 month with the bike and it's been amazing

Matias Estrada

This is my first full suspension bike, my first 29er and first bike with a dropper post. I'm coming from a 27.5" hardtail so I had a lot of concerns related with the new wheel size, the increase in weight and potential pedal bob. I love it so far. The bike is just great. It's super fun, it's fast, there is no noticeable pedal bob and I feel comfortable on it. I did a 100k mtb race and the bike did really well. It's forgiving and gave me more confidence and security. I recommend this bike for someone that does xc, xc endurance and some mild to medium single track just for fun or as a result of a long ride. I don't do jumps nor crazy stuff on my bike (yet) but the bike feels stable and stiff (from HT with a Fox 32 SC to the Fox 34 SC on the Signal Peak).

Awesome

Braden Hallam

I absolutely love this bike. It climbs fast. It descends fast. It handles great. What an awesome bike. Fezzari made ordering super easy. It came when they said it would. Easy to put together and ride minutes after it came. Zero complaints. Awesome

Just Rode it at Outer Bike

Tom G

I Just had the chance to ride this at Outer bike. I'm looking for a full suspension bike for endurance racing. The position was set up much more trail oriented, however could easily be adapted for XC racing by sliding the saddle back and a little longer stem. I'm coming off a hardtail so pedaling efficiency was of the utmost importance. The bike pedaled great. I did use all three pedaling platforms to cater to the terrain. I would have liked the addition of the remote lockout, which Fezzari has accounted for with some slick internal routing. Overall, the bike was super stable, and very versatile. Something I'd be happy racing at Leadville or riding trails on the front range. The bike is definitely on the short list for next season.

Choose Your Roll

The Signal Peak is available in two wheel sizes so you can roll over anything that comes your way

27.5+

The ultimate in a comfortable ride and unbeatable traction. A 27.5+ rim and wider tire combination allows you to run much lower tire pressure to give you comfort and confidence. A perfect combo for long adventures.

29

The go-to choice for speed and maneuverability. 29er wheels and tires are lighter than 27.5+ giving you more speed.

Support

How many water bottle cages will it hold?

The Signal Peak will hold 2 cages inside the front triangle on every frame size.

What type of maintenance is required on the frame?

We believe in simplicity. That's why we designed the Signal Peak for minimal maintenance. All bearings are sealed. All bearings are replaceable. Dirt can get between the bearings and the bolts, so occasionally we recommend it be cleaned. Also, as with any suspension frame, we recommend that you check the tightness of the bolts on your frame. Check the bolt for the recommended torque setting.

Are the cables routed underneath the bottom bracket?

No. We routed them on the top side of the downtube, minimizing cable movement, wear, and potential damage.

Does the Signal Peak have cable slap on the internally routed cables that is common on other bikes?

No. We specifically engineered the Signal Peak to minimize cable slap by designing adaptive, future-proof, rattle-free cable guides.

What type of bottom bracket does the Signal Peak have?

It is an English thread standard bottom bracket for easy maintenance and increased durability.

How much does the frame weigh?

2200 grams

What type of derailleur hanger does it have?

The Signal Peak has a custom designed derailleur hanger with Frame Defense Technology that includes having the threading in the derailleur hanger and not the frame to minimize potential frame damage.

How big of tire will the Signal Peak handle?

27.5 x 2.8 or 29 x 2.6.

Every Fezzari comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame. Click here to read more.
